BUFFALO GAP HISTORIC VILLAGE
Saturday, December 11, 2004 |
Buffalo Gap Historic Village invites you to experience a little Christmas
magic. Step back in time and watch the fictional story of one man’s life unfold
from birth through his greatest trial, losing his family farm. Your guide will take you through the years to view pivotal moments in the
life of Frederick Shaw, a man born to poor pioneer farmers in the late
19th century. You will see him fall in love, go to war, raise a family, and face the
threat of foreclosure on his farm, all through a special tour experience
using our historic buildings.
Our story is loosely, but very intentionally, based on the film It’s a Wonderful Life, one of the most famous Christmas movies of all time — except on December
11 it will be retold in a poignant Big Country setting.
Come and share the holiday with us this December 11th at Buffalo Gap Historic
Village. Admission is free (though a donation of $8 is suggested). Tours will last about half an
hour and begin at 5:30 P.M. with the final tour starting at 9 P.M. The Village will close at 4 P.M. to prepare for the event. It’s a great way to spend some time with your family and with us in our
concluding event of 2004!
