Step back to the early 1860s where you can be personally touched by the
conflict that evoked more emotion in Americans than at any other time in
our history. Experience the life and hardships of the common soldier, see
his uniforms, taste his food, touch his weapons, and listen to his music.
Hear human interest stories about doctors, chaplains, and the role that
women and children played during the Civil War.
Your host, Judith Jackson, has followed her passion for Civil War history and education for over 35 years. She has traveled to over 75 Civil War sites in 16 states and has organized and conducted tours for teens and adults to Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harper’s Ferry, not to mention a Mississippi tour that encompassed the whole Vicksburg campaign. She has made numerous presentations to audiences of all ages. Today’s talk will be a real treat for anyone interested in the history that has made the United States what it is today.
