The Grady McWhiney Research Foundation was the recipient of the 2005 Mary
Moody Northen Award from the Texas Historical Foundation for outstanding achievement in historic preservation for non-profit groups.
The award comes in recognition of our maintenance and expansion of the
Buffalo Gap Historic Village and for our publishing activities through State House Press and the McWhiney Foundation Press. Says Kelly Rushing, the president of the Texas Historical Foundation,
“The people of the State of Texas are deeply indebted to the McWhiney Foundation
and its members for their love of Texas and Texas history and their devotion
to preserving that rich heritage.”
The award was officially presented at a dinner in Austin, Texas, on April
14, 2005.
